The Socially Just Construction Shift is a series set up by Endeavour & Stadsform in collaboration with the University of Antwerp and the Flemish Association for Space and Planning.
The 'concrete freeze', or 'construction shift' as we know it today, is a known spatial and policy challenge. But how we deal with it today is not how we are going to hit it.
In this track, we try to transform and map these complex and chaotic issues into human language. Therefore, we are working on a popular narrative in pamphlet form.
In doing so, we also highlight the social injustice of the current approach.
An approach in which speculation and land ownership remains central, benefiting a small privileged few, while we as a society pay too much for it.
